Watt privacy policy
Version 1.0. Effective October 16, 2026.
This policy explains what Amplify for Advisors LLC, a Colorado limited liability company ("Amplify for Advisors", "we", "us"), collects when you use Watt, how we use it, who else handles it, how long we keep it, and your choices. It covers the Watt dashboard, the connector for AI apps, Watt's public tools (the instant demo and the findability score), reservations, and the emails we send about Watt.
Watt is software for financial professionals' businesses. This policy is part of the Watt terms of service.
The short version
- We collect what you give us to write marketing in your name, and what we need to sign you in, bill you and keep Watt running.
- We don't want information about your clients. Watt has no place for it, and the terms forbid entering it.
- We don't sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use your content to train AI.
- No advertising or analytics trackers. A sign-in cookie, and short-lived cookies while you connect an account.
- You can download everything, or delete your account and everything in it, at any time.
- If a security incident affects your account data, we'll tell you within 72 hours of becoming aware of it.
1. What we collect
From you:
| What | Why |
|---|---|
| Email address | To sign you in and send you emails about Watt |
| Name and credentials, firm name, website, niche, what your firm focuses on (as your website describes it), the setting your website's photos show (such as the coast or the mountains, so stock photos match), city, booking link and disclosure text, and where you want your disclosure on social posts (with the date you confirmed your policy allows none, or that your firm doesn't require a disclosure line at all) | To write in your name and put the right details on your marketing |
| Voice settings, words to avoid, your own stories, marketing plan, favorite topics, topics you've already posted about, and weekly settings | To write like you and plan your weeks. Writing you paste or link to teach Watt your voice is read once and not kept; only the updated voice description is saved. |
| What clients asked you about lately, as topics in your own words (no names or details) | So your next week's posts answer them. Each one is removed once a weekly draft answers it. |
| How often you posted before Watt, if you answer (one of six choices) | So Watt can show you how far you've come. It's only ever shown when it went up. |
| What's on the minds of the people you serve: general worries of prospects and of clients, in your own words (no names or details) | So pieces you pick a worry for, and one post in each weekly draft, speak to it. Kept until you remove them. |
| Which of our links you signed up from (a short label we put on our own links, such as "issue100") | To see which of our newsletters and posts bring advisors to Watt. Nothing about you or your browser beyond that label |
| Post image choices: the social handle you type, which of your photos to use, and the look | To draw post images the same way each time. The words of each post image aren't kept separately. |
| "How I'm paid": the words you write about how your firm is paid, and when you confirmed they match your filings | To draw that client visual. If you upload your Form CRS or ADV to draft it, the file is read once and not kept. |
| What you ask Watt to make, the drafts it writes, your edits, and what you approve (with who approved it and when) | So you can come back to your work, and so you have a copy of what you approved |
| Logo, brand colors and fonts | To draw your graphics in your brand |
| Free trial fingerprints: one-way fingerprints of the email, website and LinkedIn profile used for a free trial | So each advisor gets one free trial. A fingerprint can't be turned back into the email or website. |
| Photos you upload, and when you confirmed you have the rights to them | To use in your graphics, or on their own as a post when you choose. We resize them and remove location and other hidden data. Some designs show the person in your photo in front of the design with the background removed; Watt does that itself, on its own servers, and keeps no separate copy of the cut-out. |
| New clients by month and source only (for example, "September: referral from an accountant") | To show where your new clients come from. No names or details. |
| Your acceptance of the terms: which version and when | To show what you agreed to. Kept in our database, and with your billing record in Stripe if you pay for Watt. |
| Billing details | Handled by Stripe. We don't see or store full card numbers. |
| If you ask to hear when Watt opens (before you have an account): your email, first name if you give it, and which of our pages or links you came from | Kept with Resend, our email provider, only to send you the launch email. Every email has an unsubscribe link, and unsubscribing removes you from the list. |
| If you unsubscribe from our marketing emails: your email address, and when | So we never send you marketing email again, even after your account is deleted or if you never had one. |
| If you reserve before your account opens: your email, name, firm name, plan and a saved card | Held by Stripe only, not in Watt's database, so we can open your account and charge you only then. Nothing is charged when you reserve. |
| If you connect LinkedIn: LinkedIn's id for you, your name as LinkedIn shows it, and an access token that lets Watt post for you (encrypted, and good for 60 days) | To post the approved LinkedIn posts you choose, when you choose. Watt never sees your LinkedIn password. Disconnecting deletes the token. |
| If you connect a Facebook Page: the Page's id and name, and a Page access token that lets Watt post to that Page (encrypted). If you manage several Pages, their names and tokens wait in an encrypted cookie in your browser for up to 10 minutes while you pick one; only the one you pick is kept | To post the approved Facebook posts you choose to your business Page, when you choose. Watt never sees your Facebook password, never keeps the token for your personal Facebook account, and can't post to personal profiles. If your Page belongs to a business portfolio, Watt looks up that portfolio's Pages once while you connect, to find it. Disconnecting deletes the token. |
| A record of each post Watt sends to LinkedIn or your Facebook Page for you: which approved post, when, and its link (or why it failed) | So you can see what went out, and when |
| If you connect Mailchimp: Mailchimp's id for your account, its name, and an access token that lets Watt create drafts there (encrypted) | To put the approved emails you choose into Mailchimp as drafts. Watt never sees your Mailchimp password and never reads or keeps your contacts. Disconnecting deletes the token. |
| If you connect Constant Contact: its id for your account, your organization's name, and a renewable sign-in token that lets Watt create drafts there (encrypted) | To put the approved emails you choose into Constant Contact as drafts. Watt reads your confirmed sender address to send the draft from, never your contacts. Disconnecting deletes the token. |
| A header image for an email you send to your email tool, if you choose one: a graphic in your brand from that email's own words | So the image shows in your readers' inboxes. It's kept at a long random web address, like your published photos. |
| If you connect Kit: its id for your account, your account's name, and a renewable sign-in token that lets Watt create drafts there (encrypted) | To put the approved emails you choose into Kit as draft broadcasts. Watt never reads your subscribers. Disconnecting deletes the token. |
| A record of each email Watt puts into Mailchimp, Constant Contact or Kit as a draft: which approved email, when, and the draft's link | So you can open the draft again |
| If you record a video in Watt: nothing from the camera or microphone leaves your device while you record. For a take you keep, Watt sends its sound (not the picture) to Deepgram to turn it into words with their timing, and gets the words back. The finished video is made on your device too | To caption the video, take out "um"s and long pauses, and run the checks on what you actually said. Watt doesn't keep the sound of a take; Deepgram is told not to keep it or learn from it. |
| A video you approve: the finished file (your picture and voice), what you said with its timing, the script you read from, the checks on your words and which you dismissed, the options you chose, and where you posted it (LinkedIn's link and when) | So you can download it and its captions file again, and so you have a record of what was approved. Stored as a file at an address with a random part no one can guess. |
| Pieces you removed from All Content | So they stay out of that page. Removing never deletes the campaign or its approved copy. |
| If you send a draft for compliance review: your reviewer's name and work email, a copy of the draft as you sent it, their comments and their decision (with their name and when) | To send them a private review link, show you their comments, and keep their decision with your approved copy. We email your reviewer only about that review. |
| Messages you send us | To answer you |
If an advisor sends you a draft to review: we keep your name and work email as the advisor gave them, your comments and your decision, with that advisor's account, and delete them with it. We email you only about that review, and replies go to the advisor.
Public market data: for quarterly letters and notes after a sharp market drop, Watt reads index levels and Treasury yields from the Federal Reserve Bank of St. Louis's public FRED data. Nothing about you is sent to get them.
From public sources, when you ask: your firm's public website, and its public SEC or state registration record, to fill in your details and work out your findability score. For the score, Watt also runs web searches and asks an AI assistant with web search the question a prospect would ask. If you're signed in, Watt may re-score your website about once a month so you can see it change over time. If you correct your score, Watt keeps the correction (where your articles are published, the question Watt asks AI and the search it runs for you, that you meet clients only online, that no advisor directory is open to you, or which parts don't apply to you) with what it read from your website, so later scores use it. To read your articles, Watt opens the public article pages and newsletter you point it to.
Automatically:
- Session cookie. One sign-in cookie that keeps you signed in for up to 30 days. It's needed for Watt to work.
- Connection cookies. While you connect LinkedIn, Facebook, Mailchimp, Constant Contact or Kit, a short-lived cookie (10 minutes or less) checks that the answer coming back is for you. It's deleted or expires when you finish.
- The demo's result, in your browser. If you start a free trial from the end of the instant demo, your browser keeps what the demo made (your website's address, what Watt found on it, the three posts and the name you typed) for up to three days, so the sign-in link can save it to your new account. It stays on your device until then and is cleared once it's saved.
- Browser storage. Some settings and work in progress are kept in your own browser for convenience (for example, a plan you made before signing in). They stay on your device and you can clear them in your browser.
- Rate limits. For visitors who aren't signed in, a keyed one-way hash of the network address and a time, to limit how often the free tools run. These are deleted after 2 days. If you later create an account, a one-way hash may link earlier free-tool use to your account for our cost records.
- AI cost records. Each AI call: which feature, how many tokens, and the cost. No content.
- Server logs. Our hosting provider keeps standard request logs (such as network address, time and page) for a short period, for security and troubleshooting.
What we don't use: no analytics tools, no advertising cookies, no tracking pixels, no fingerprinting, and no social media trackers. If that ever changes, we'll update this policy first.
2. Information about your clients
Watt is built so you don't need to enter anything about your clients or prospects, and it has no place for it. The terms forbid entering client names, contact or account details, or anything else about them, and uploading photos of clients. Watt's AI is told never to put client details in what it writes. The boxes for what clients asked you about and for what's on their mind refuse entries that look like an email address, phone number, account number or a name with a title (such as "Mrs."), but no automatic filter catches everything you type. Some boxes are free text. If you type client details into one anyway, it's stored with that work until you delete it.
The same goes for other people: please don't enter personal details about accountants, attorneys or anyone else you work with. Watt doesn't need them.
3. How we use your information
We use it to:
- run Watt for you, including writing and drawing your drafts
- sign you in and keep your account secure
- process payments, reservations and membership checks
- send emails you need or asked for, such as sign-in links, "your week is ready" and reminders about your weekly drafts (the day before Watt drafts, and when drafts have waited two days), LinkedIn reconnect and posting notices, account-opening, billing and renewal notices, and notices about these terms
- answer your questions and fix problems
- improve Watt using counts, costs and aggregated, de-identified statistics that don't include your content
- prevent abuse and enforce our terms
- meet legal obligations
If we send you news or offers about Watt or Amplify for Advisors, every such email has an unsubscribe link, and we stop within 10 business days of your request. Service emails (sign-in, billing, security and legal notices) aren't marketing and continue while you have an account.
De-identified data. We may create aggregated statistics that can't reasonably identify you or your firm (for example, average findability scores). We keep them in that form and don't try to re-identify anyone.
4. AI
When Watt writes, it sends what you typed and your settings to our AI provider, Anthropic. Photos you upload are sent there too, to describe them, and so is a Form CRS or ADV you upload to draft "How I'm paid". Website reading and the findability score's searches also run through Anthropic, which may use a search provider to run them.
To turn the speech in a video you record into words, Watt sends that video's sound to Deepgram. Each request opts out of Deepgram's model-improvement program, so Deepgram keeps the sound only while it processes the request and doesn't train on it.
Anthropic's commercial terms say it doesn't train its models on this data. It deletes it within a short period (at most 30 days under its current policy), except where it must keep it longer for legal reasons or to investigate misuse.
We don't use your content to train AI models.
5. Who else handles your information
We use these service providers to run Watt. They handle your information only to provide their service to us, under their own security and privacy commitments.
| Provider | What it does |
|---|---|
| Anthropic | AI that writes drafts, describes photos, reads public web pages and runs findability searches |
| Vercel | Hosting, server logs, and file storage for uploaded photos |
| Deepgram | If you record a video: turns its sound into words with their timing. Told not to keep the sound or train on it |
| Neon | Database |
| Resend | Email delivery, and the list of people who asked to hear when Watt opens |
| Stripe | Payments, subscriptions, membership checks and reservations |
| Pexels | Stock photo search. It receives search words only, never your details. |
| Google Fonts | Fonts. Your browser and our servers request font files from Google, which shares a network address with Google. |
| If you connect it: receives the approved posts you send there, with their graphics, when you post or schedule them | |
| Meta (Facebook) | If you connect a Facebook Page: receives the approved posts you send to that Page, with their graphics, when you post or schedule them |
| Mailchimp | If you connect it: receives the approved emails you send there as drafts. Watt reads only your audiences' names and sender settings, to address a draft |
| Constant Contact | If you connect it: receives the approved emails you send there as drafts. Watt reads only your organization's name and confirmed sender addresses |
| Kit | If you connect it: receives the approved emails you send there as draft broadcasts. Watt reads only your account's name |
If you connect Watt to your own AI app (such as Claude or ChatGPT), or to LinkedIn, Facebook, Mailchimp, Constant Contact, Kit or another posting or email service, that service handles what passes through it under its own policy and your agreement with it.
We may also disclose information:
- if the law, a court order or a regulator requires it
- to protect the rights, safety and security of our users, us or others
- to our professional advisers (such as lawyers and accountants) under duties of confidentiality
- as part of a merger, acquisition, financing or sale of all or part of our business. The buyer would have to keep this policy's protections for the information it receives.
6. How long we keep it
| What | How long |
|---|---|
| Your account, settings, campaigns, approved copies, uploaded photos and approved videos | Until you delete them or your account |
| A LinkedIn connection | Until you disconnect it or delete your account. The token itself stops working after 60 days. |
| A Facebook Page connection | Until you disconnect it or delete your account. The token stops working if you change your Facebook password, remove Watt in Facebook, or lose your role on the Page. |
| A compliance review | With the campaign, until you delete it or your account. The reviewer's link stops working after 30 days, and we keep only a one-way hash of it. |
| A Mailchimp, Constant Contact or Kit connection | Until you disconnect it, remove Watt in that tool, or delete your account. Drafts already there stay in your account with that tool. |
| An account with no paid access and no sign-in for 12 months | We may delete it, after emailing you at least 30 days' notice |
| Reservation details | In Stripe, until your account opens or the reservation is cancelled; then under Stripe's own record-keeping |
| Record of your acceptance of the terms | While your account exists, and afterwards only as long as needed to resolve a dispute about it |
| Free trial fingerprints | Kept after your account is deleted, so a free trial can't be restarted by deleting and signing up again. They can't be turned back into your details and aren't linked to anything else once your account is gone. |
| Rate-limit records | 2 days |
| A marketing email opt-out | Kept, so the opt-out keeps working, unless you sign up for those emails again |
| Single-use sign-in link records, and the matching code (kept only as a scrambled hash) | Until the link expires (15 minutes) |
| AI cost records | Kept for our accounts, with no content and no link to you once your account is deleted |
| Database backups | Roll off within 7 days |
| Billing and tax records | Kept by Stripe and us as tax and accounting law requires, usually up to 7 years |
| Provider copies | Under each provider's terms (for example, Anthropic as in section 4, and Resend's delivery logs) |
7. Your choices and rights
We give everyone the rights below, wherever you live. Some US state privacy laws may not apply to us or to you; we offer these anyway, without conceding that any particular law applies.
- See and correct. Your details are on the Brand and Voice and Account pages. You can edit them any time.
- Download (portability). Download everything in your account as a ZIP on the Account page, and your approved copies on the Approved Copies page.
- Delete. Delete your account on the Account page. Before it's deleted, Watt offers you a ZIP of everything. Deleting removes everything in it right away, apart from the backups and records listed in section 6, and it can't be undone. You can also delete individual photos, stories and new-client entries.
- Ask us. For anything else, including a copy of what we hold about you, email watt@amplifyforadvisors.ai from your account's email address so we can confirm it's you. Someone you authorize may ask for you, with proof of that authority. We'll respond within 45 days (or tell you if we need up to 45 more).
- Appeal. If we turn down a request, you can appeal by replying to our answer. We'll respond within 60 days and explain our decision.
- No discrimination. We won't treat you differently for using any of these rights.
- Opt-out signals. We don't sell or share personal information for targeted advertising, so there's nothing to opt out of. We still treat a Global Privacy Control signal as an opt-out request.
- Do Not Track. Watt doesn't track you across other websites, and doesn't let anyone else do so, so it works the same whether or not your browser sends a Do Not Track signal.
- Emails. Sign-in and service emails are needed to use Watt. You can turn off "your week is ready" emails by turning off weekly drafts. Every marketing email (such as the free trial reminders and the launch email) has an unsubscribe link and our mailing address. Unsubscribing takes effect right away, and always within 10 business days.

8. Security
We protect your information with:
- HTTPS for all traffic
- passwordless sign-in: an emailed link and 6-digit code that work once between them, expire in 15 minutes, and stop working after five wrong tries at the code
- "sign out everywhere" on the Account page
- per-account access, so each advisor sees only their own data
- encryption of stored data by our database and file hosts
- secret keys held in our host's encrypted settings, never in our code
- daily limits on anything a stranger can trigger
- a security review of the app before launch
Uploaded photos are stored at long, random web addresses that can't be guessed, because they're meant for marketing you publish. Anyone who is given one of those addresses could view that photo.
No system is perfectly secure.
Incident notice. If we become aware of a security incident that has led, or is reasonably likely to have led, to unauthorized access to your account data, we'll email you within 72 hours after we become aware of it, with what we know and what we're doing, and keep you updated. We'll also give any other notices the law requires.
For firms. Watt isn't designed to hold customer information under Regulation S-P or similar laws (section 2). If your firm reviews Watt as a vendor, our vendor due diligence sheet is available on request, and so is a data processing addendum.
9. Where your information is
Watt is offered only in the United States. Our app, database and file storage run in the United States, and our AI provider is a US company. A few providers (such as Pexels and Google Fonts) may handle the limited data they receive elsewhere.
10. Children
Watt is for businesses and professionals. It isn't for anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect information from children. If you think a child has given us information, email us and we'll delete it.
11. Changes
We'll post changes here and update the version and date at the top. For a material change, we'll tell you by email or in Watt at least 30 days before it takes effect.
